Challenging traditional notions about male bonding and interaction, Frank Mosley's Lions' Den is the type of stirring statement that renders the offense inoffensive, the unfamiliar all too familiar and the harshness of chauvinism quite gentle with sadness. As a group of male friends await a belated bud, each of them gearing up with loud, objectifying sexual banter for a birthday night of strip club swaggering, Mosley calibrates his improvisational short to undermine its own macho appearences. In this slice of confrontational intimacy, men talk big and act small, their own faults silencing both their pride and personal ethic certitude.

The word itself is enough to illicit a cringe of distaste in the average person, and outrage from your typical liberal-minded Westerner. Yet, for thousands of Spaniards, seeing a ritual killing is just good, old-fashioned popcorn fun. You could drop a few euro on the latest Sunday matinee, or, for even less, you could go see a raging bull or even a human being gored to death, live, and for real.
