Launched in April 2007 as a weekly online publication, SM serves to tell stories from the independent and student film communities with an eye toward sharing thoughts and critique about trends within the scene. While SM blatantly embraces subjectivity from its contributors and interviewees, all opinions and ideas shared are solely those of their authors and do not define the parameters of the publication's stance. We welcome dialogue and devil's advocacy of all type in reference to cinema and the production process.

Currently, we are not accepting cold submissions of films for review or interview.

As an unfunded publication at this time SM can offer no monetary compensation for freelance work submitted. We are, however, always looking for writers to contribute to all sections. Feel free to send a note of greeting and a selection of clips through the Contact page as well.
