The twinning was about the development of REHAB-LAB, an integrated FabLab in a rehabilitation or medico-social centre for manufacturing individualized assistive devices (IADs) by 3D printing, in person-centred care based on occupational therapist / technical referent collaboration. It was initiated by the Mutualist Center for Functional Rehabilitation and Readaptation in Kerpape, one of the biggest rehabilitation centres in France. Learn About The Rehab Lab

This innovative concept transferred to three further European locations: Centre d’activités et de réadaptation fonctionnelles in Aarhus (Denmark), the University Hospital of Liege (Belgium) and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy). The twinning was also about the setting up of a collaborative platform to support the adopters after the end of the project and about two training courses for the technical referents & occupational therapists in the participating centres.
The Rehab Lab is a highly respected clinic with a reputation for empowering clients to live pain-free and achieve optimum performance, wellness, function and a full range of motion. Their unique approach is a combination of exercises and hands-on manual therapy that is meticulously crafted to not only alleviate pain but also imbue their clients with strength and mobility to foster lasting wellness.
For the patients of The Rehab Lab, the most important goal is to get back on their feet and feel energized and empowered to reach their goals in life. Many people are nervous or concerned about going to see chiropractors because they fear the popping sound of their joints, but at The Rehab Lab, Dr Sam and Mike use techniques to restore movement to restricted joints without causing them to pop.
